I am real sucker for things that make tough ideas easy for kids to grasp.\u00a0 If you have a 10-year old and you peer into his science book, you might well find stuff on thermal conductors. \u00a0Eeeeuw!\u00a0 How boring that sounds \u2013 I can hardly bear to write it.<\/p>\n

Well, if you\u2019ve ever heard Flanders & Swann\u2019s recording called \u2018First and Second Law\u2019 you\u2019ll change your tune completely.\u00a0 Look\u00a0at this video<\/a> (image is irrevelant, audio only)\u00a0and you\u2019ll see what I\u2019m talking about.\u00a0 Now I am unable to repeat the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics without wanting to snap my fingers, tap my feet and get up and groove around the kitchen.<\/p>\n

My children, without even realizing, got into it too, and then completely floored their science teacher by standing up in class and repeating it perfectly, complete with dance moves.<\/p>\n

Now they know it for the rest of their lives.<\/p>\n
